You're the one I like
I will find a reason tonight
Feel it all despite
The fact you don't like my type
I can see you're real smart
World class piece of art
I can see you in the dark

abilities & skills
Rose grew up with a hunter family, although she kept herself removed from it directly, she was still aware of her brothers and their lifestyle. Rose carries an awareness through her family ties, but has no training or desire to learn.
through contact with Uriel, the archangel, Rose has the ability to recall almost all the events of her own life. Rose can recall specific events (as long as she was there to witness them) and can remember things such as words, smells and the details of her surroundings. Rose often uses her ability to recall her own past to recount things she has read, making her quite literally a walking encyclopedia.
CHAMPION OF URIEL
after becoming a champion of the archangel Uriel, Rose is no longer afflicted with pain or nosebleeds when she uses her ability of hyperthymesia. Rose also has a connection to Uriel which allows her to call on the angel from a distance in times of need.
into the past
Rose Lakatos was born into a life of secrets and legacies, primarily the hunting legacy that came with her last name. It wasn't the life that most would be born into, it wasn't really the life most would choose, but this was Rose's life. Born on a cold September morning, Rose Lakatos wouldn't know the safety of a mother's arms, and it wasn't until much later that she would fully understand that factor that was missing from her life. She and her twin Michael were delivered and safely whisked to recovery, swaddled and bestowed upon family like the precious little bundles they were. Their mother, tragically, would never see herself in either of the twins.
For years, the twins were sheltered from the fact that Mabel passed while delivering them, complications from the pregnancy and the birth meaning that the babies were saved, but mother wasn't. While such a thing could tear a family apart, Rose never truly felt an aching emptiness. When her father was around, he was harsh and blunt, but not cruel, and while he was away, Rose had her sister Hannah to take care of her, Hannah took such good care of her, that Rose never felt she missed out on a mother's love; she had Hannah's love after all.
As she grew up, Rose recognised that her family was different. The hunting lifestyle wasn't hidden particularly, and when the boys came home from a trip or hunt, it was often discussed openly. While Rose wasn't overtly interested in the whole thing, she hung on every word that Dan said, it was clear she idolised her older brother, loved hearing his stories. Any time Dan left, Rose would wait at the window before dinner, hoping they'd be back. As the hunts grew longer and longer, she waited less and less.
ANGELS & WISDOM
When their grandfather passed, and Hannah took over the full time care, the hunting talk grew less frequent. Rose didn't mind greatly, she wasn't interested in the hunting, she had no interest in pursuing that aspect of the family, and Hannah was very encouraging towards Rose's interest in almost anything else. Rose's interests were vast, primarily through the encouragement of her sister, and her friend. While no one else was aware, Rose had become close with a 'friend', one that she was aware people couldn't see, that was just hers. Sometimes, Rose was teased about talking to an imaginary friend, and at times the family worried if her lack of social interaction caused it. No one was aware that Rose was receiving visits from an archangel. She never divulged that to anyone, not even Mike or Dan. Understanding that Uriel had to be a secret, and that her family might not understand that her supernatural friend was exactly that; a friend.
Progressing through school, it became obvious that Rose was exceptionally talented, she was a studious person, but her ability to recollect anything she'd read at any time, and all of her lessons with such clarity that she could quote them verbatim meant that she was constantly at the top of her classes. During some time with Uriel, the angel imparted that because of their closeness through Rose's earlier years, the young woman would forever remember her life in crystal clear detail. The gift allowed Rose to learn almost anything she set her mind on, opening many doors to her. All Uriel wanted was for her to use it wisely and cautiously.
Rose took this to mean 'learn everything', and she did. She enrolled in some additional after school classes, most of them were academic based, only one of them being at all sport related, much to Hannah's enthusiasm. Rose tried to become a font of knowledge, learning languages and sciences, reading literature and attempting to learn some basic athletics. It turned out, Rose was not athletically inclined, in any regard, although she cheered on her school's hockey team enthusiastically and with gusto.
Graduation came quickly, and Rose struggled to choose what she wanted to do afterwards. She took to spending time in coffee shops, book stores and hanging out in the library. By that point, Mike had already expressed his interest in joining with the family legacy, which Rose was still not at all concerned about, despite Hannah wanting the twins to have something different for their lives. Rose wanted to, as much as the lore behind many of the hunter stories fascinated her, and she still idolised Dan, she had no interest in taking up hunting in any way. She just didn't know what else she wanted to do. For a while, she helped Mike plan his hunts, doing his research primarily, leaving him to work out his strategy, stressing that he had to be careful and come home soon. Rose was still looking into her own options when Hannah went missing.
Things were strained, while Daniel tried to take on the role of protector, while Mike tried to prove himself capable and while Rose worried herself over her older sister's disappearance -she knew that they thought it was hunt related, that someone had targeted Hannah to get at the family. They ended up in Seattle, Daniel laying down the law, the twins reluctantly following. Mike took up hunting openly, much to Rose's chagrin, but Daniel became a mentor and Rose was a little easier. Seattle also brought the revelation that Hannah was now a werewolf, something that Rose is still attempting to come to terms with.
Over the course of time in Seattle, Rose has found herself more and more immersed in the supernatural world, with Uriel in her life all over again, as so much more than just a friend she couldn't talk about, with Hannah and her pack taking up a lot of her sister's time, her brother's hunting, Ben dying, Rose found herself clinging to her connection with Uriel. It culminated in becoming Uriel's champion, a constant link the angel would be present and Rose felt something settle in her, something that calmed the pressures and feelings of worry that her family would splinter and abandon her.
Seattle didn't become easier though, and following a harrowing experience in an arena of the Horseman War's making, where Rose was forced to kill Daniel to survive, Rose took a leave to return to Canada, where Mike was following up on a hunt of his own. Rose just needed to get away for a little while, put her head on straight, then figure out if she wanted to stay in Seattle or not. The decision wasn't overly hard, when Rose started to miss Uriel and her siblings more.
It was just getting back to Seattle that turned out to be a little... complicated.
with Dan, Hannah and Mike
The Lakatos siblings have always been close, even during times of distance. Now is no different, with them all in the same city, building their lives, it's a complex pot of relationships to balance.
Rose has known a version of Uriel almost her whole life, and the Archangel has been a constant support and comfort in Rose's life. But lately that's taken a small turn in Rose's side of things. It's just a complicated matter of working out if Facebook status' mean anything to Angels.
❤ Rose is the smart, bookish, quiet member of the Lakatos clan. She's extremely studious and enjoys learning, it's a large part of her charm.
HOME FROM HOME
❤ Between libraries, and the book store she works in, Rose lives in coffee shops. She's very fond of Holy Grounds, just like every Seattle person it seems. But can't quit the trained addiction of Starbucks.
❤ She works at A Novel Idea, which basically means she gets to work around books. When she goes missing, it's usually a safe bet that she's gotten distracted and started reading something.
❤ Although she comes from a known hunter family, Rose has decidedly little to do with that side of things. She supports her brothers somewhat, if that makes them happy, but has absolutely no interest in going into that side of things. Ever.
NOT SO IMAGINARY FRIEND
❤ As a child, it was thought that she had an imaginary friend, it was in fact the Archangel Uriel. Although she's never actually had an imaginary friend, she still gets a little jittery when people tease her about being 'weird', because she got it a lot when she was a child from school mates.
❤ Sometimes, Rose struggles to separate Hannah as sister or mother; from a young age, Hannah took care of Rose and her twin, which led to Rose often attaching the role of 'mother' to Hannah. She's trying very hard to view her sister as a sister to help them re-bond again.
❤ Does not know how to drive, hasn't learned, doesn't want to learn and is perfectly happy walking wherever she needs to go.
❤ Is a giant dork around boys -even if she's not overly interested in them, she'll still throw out random information she's learned like a nervous tick. If she is interested in them, it's worse.
